Our Awards
The work that we do is never for our own recognition, but to recognize those who wear our nation's cloth in service. Having said that, our own organization has recognized us for consistently meeting and exceeding our mission goals.

We are measured by councils large and small across our great nation, as well as internationally. Imperial Valley is considered either small or medium in size based on the number of members in our council. Regardless of size, we are mighty in service!

Communications | Mackie Awards
Informing the public about the importance of the sea services, their mission, and families is at the heart of the Navy League mission.
The Donald M. Mackie Awards were established in 1964 to encourage more effective communication between Navy Leaguers and the communities they serve. The award is named for Donald M. Mackie, an instrumental figure in establishing our SEAPOWER magazine. The award honors excellence in both print and web-based communications.
Judges are selected on the basis of their expertise in the field of journalism, newsletter and web publishing or a related field.
The Donald M. Mackie Awards are presented annually at the National Convention for websites, social media, and newsletters.
